Welcome to day twenty two of this purging series. Today we are going to be doing Handbags.
Our goal is to spend 20 minutes or less on this task. Throughout this series there may be tasks that only take 5-10 mins and that is great and gives so much motivation to keep on with the tasks in the days ahead.
Also, during these daily tasks for our purging series if there is a day where it does not apply to you or that place does not need it you can select another area to do with the same idea of 20 minutes or less.
Just like Day 20, this task might be a little harder on the decision making side. I love handbags, over the years I collected lots of handbags, about 5 years ago I did a big declutter of all my handbags, I narrowed it down to my most loved and used. I have a different look when purchasing handbags now, I really live by quality over quantity. I also, no longer jump on every trend. A trend is something that isn’t here for long.
For this task, we are going to go through all our handbags in sight. If you have seasonal bags packed away you don’t have to go through them until you are ready to pull them out for the season. First similar to Day 20, pull the ones you know you love and use. Next, pull one bag out at a time and make a decision. Make piles, to donate, to sell.
If you have luxury bags that you don’t want to get rid of because of the amount of money spent on them, consider selling them. There are many sites you can pick from to sell your items. Research them and pick the one of your choice (examples: Facebook Market Place, On your own Instagram account, Poshmark Canada). You won’t get what you spent, but you will earn something from it and that handbag will go to someone who will make good use of it. If you come across bags that you would like to donate I have come across a great cause on Instagram called Purse Project York, check them out here or select of course from your own choices.
Was this a hard one? For me now it is not, as I explained earlier on I have really paired down my collection and think about many things before purchasing a new bag.
