28 Days Purging Series: Day 13

Welcome to day thirteen of this purging series. Today we are going to be doing Nail Polish.

Our goal is to spend 20 minutes or less on this task. Throughout this series there may be tasks that only take 5-10 mins and that is great and gives so much motivation to keep on with the tasks in the days ahead.

Also, during these daily tasks for our purging series if there is a day where it does not apply to you or that place does not need it you can select another area to do with the same idea of 20 minutes or less.

This task should not take long. It will be easier then Day 11 and Day 12.
Go through your nail polish, look for the ones that look like they have gone bad. Next pick your favourites and put aside in your keep pile. All the others you want to go through and deicide if you really want to hold onto those colours. If you haven’t touch it in the last 6 months, it’s time to go. According to google, unopened and properly stored polish will last at least 18 months, possibly 24 months depending on storage conditions. For me, I use to have a whole bin of nail polishes, I did a good clean out of them a few years ago and kept a good amount. I have three daughters, so they do get use these too which is why I still keep a good amount. I store all my regular polishes on this lazy susan from Dollarama and I love it. I have made it a habit to go thru them every 4 months. Getting rid of any I am not using or have gone bad. Last year I purchased a gel polish starter kit that I love and use more of then regular polishes, I store those in a different place, but I don’t have to go thru those as I just got them last Spring and since the current life with Cover I have used it often since I haven’t been in a salon in a long time. I also have a review on it if you want to check it out, here. I tend to use regular polish on my toe nails, but my younger two daughters love painting nails so that’s why I still have a good amount. This task took me no longer then 7 minutes. If you only have Gel/Shellac nail polishes or both you can do this task to both of your collections. If you have time to spare you can also go through your nail care products/items.

My after isn’t too different, but I did get rid of 5 polishes and gave it a quick tidy of the other nail care products that are kept here.

Comment below and let me know if you took part in today’s task. Do you still use regular polish?

Review: Ubitree

I have acne prone skin, so I am always looking for skin care products and gadgets to help with preventing it. I found this Ubitree from Amazon with great reviews and thought I would give it a try. I love creating self care days at home where I pamper my skin. At first I had my doubts, but after learning to use it correctly I am pretty impressed.

It comes with different heads, Large Circular, Small, and Oval. It also has 5 levels of intensity. The recommendations are to stream your face or use hot press cloth to open your pores. I do mine after a nice hot shower. It can exfoliate dead skin, remove blackheads, grease, and acne. As per the ad it claims, it can also reduce acne, shrink pores, tighten skin, & erase wrinkles. I do notice a big difference in my acne and pores. I use it mainly for those reasons, any added features are a bonus. I also have a daily face care routine, but I have always. Since I hit my 30’s I have taken face care more seriously and always stay on top of it. I have been using this for well over 6 months now. I have taken so long to review it on the blog because I wanted to give it a fair chance. Sometimes we need more time to test the certain products/items out to give it an honest review.

The different heads are for the following;
1.Large Circular Head- Can remove stubborn blackheads, acne, and grease.
2.Small Circle Head-Suitable for sensitive skin
3.Oval Hole Head-Make your skin more elastic and compact, perfect for your T-zone area.
The heads are all removable and can be washed and disaffected.

The different levels of suction are;
Level 1 Sensitive and dry skin
Level 2 & 3 Neutral skin
Level 4 & 5 Mixed skin type & oily skin.

It is so satisfying to see everything that the machine can get out, yes gross to see how much comes out, but good to know it’s out. Don’t let the suction sit in one spot to avoid bruising.Work it from the inner part of your face outwards. I would not say that this replaces face treatments done at the spa by a professional, but it is a good tool to have on hand for those in-between visits or if it is not in your budget (facials) to be doing as often as soon do, you can save some money by using this. It can be used with batteries or a usb cable. I use mine with the usb cable and it works great. I recommend this machine if your looking to up your skin care game. Please read all instructions it comes with to avoid bruising &/or using it wrong. I am not a professional and all opinions given are just from my experiences.
